Team Red, White and Blue (Team RWB), a national nonprofit supporting military veterans, announced the support of Nike, Inc., who will serve as its official outfitter for athletic apparel.
Team Red, White and Blue was founded in 2010 with a mission to keep military veterans active in their communities. The Team RWB Veteran Ambassador Program welcomes new veterans to the team and ensures that they have the information and resources to stay connected with their local chapter, as well as the national community. This is Team RWB's movement to encourage veterans to stay active and inspire others to do the same. Each new veteran that joins the Team will receive a Nike-produced Team RWB shirt.
“For decades, the Nike brand has defined the importance of action. Team Red, White and Blue could not have chosen a more fitting partner,” said Mike Erwin, the organization’s founder and chairman of the Board. “Team RWB's vision to keep veterans active aligns with Nike's view that everybody is an athlete. And Nike is the ultimate performance apparel company in the world. Through this partnership, we will outfit our members with the highest quality athletic apparel and are extremely excited to have Nike support our team.“
Through the partnership, Nike has committed to providing Dri-Fit athletic shirts to Team Red, White and Blue in 2014. Team RWB has a current membership of more than 35,000, organized by chapters in 90 cities across the United States–and is looking to drive continued growth throughout 2014.
“Nike was founded on the premise that: if you have a body, you are an athlete and we are proud to be able to support Team RWB on their mission to inspire veterans to lead their communities towards an active future,” said Nike VP & GM North America Football, Baseball, Athletic Training and Team, Loren Hoppes. ”Team RWB and their members have the potential to inspire and enable positive experience through physical activity and sports across our communities.”
