Nike is looking to abstract painter and calligrapher Romon K. Yank, also known as Rostarr, for its winter design inspiration.
The swoosh has merged the artist’s calligraphy-inspired drawings with popular pieces within running footwear and apparel.
The Nike x Rostarr collection reserves itself to a black and white colorway and is an attempt to “capture the rhythm and feeling of movement created when people run a race–that surge of energy,” said Rostarr.
He added, “This project is about isolating the energy that happens when you run with a big group of people.”
The collection breaks on October 20.
