Despite news that Tiger Woods reached a partnership with TaylorMade for golf clubs, Nike is still working closely with the golf legend on golf shoes.

Nike’s media site includes an interview with Tobie Hatfield, the brands senior director of athlete innovation, discussing working with Tiger Woods on the player’s latest golf shoe, the Nike TW ’17. Last year, Nike announced it was exiting the golf equipment business. Woods is still an endorser of Nike’s golf apparel and footwear.

“The thing about Tiger is he actually wants to learn the language of footwear design,” said Hatfield. “He wants to use that same language because he knows that helps the design and development process. I can talk to him like I’m talking to another designer. I really like that about him and appreciate it because he wants to understand.”
