Nike, Inc. found itself the focus of protests in Jakarta, Indonesia as it planned to end shoe production at two factories there, according to various reports coming out of the region. Nike said it decided to cut production due to product from the factories not meeting their quality standards.
Spokesmen for Nike, however, said the move was not meant to signal an end to the company's manufacturing presence there, but that in fact Nike planned to continue to grow their business in Indonesia.
