Nike is expected to replace New Balance as the kit supplier of the famed English Premier League soccer club, Liverpool.

Nike is in advanced’ talks with Nike over a new deal that would “eclipse” Manchester United’s current UK £750 million (U.S. $980 million) deal with Adidas, according to a report from ESPN. The report stated that the sum would mark the most valuable kit deal struck in Premier League history and move closer to Barcelona’s own record U.S. $175 million a year contract with Nike.

Liverpool’s current deal with American New Balance is worth UK £45 million (U.S. $58 million) a year and is due to expire at the end of the 2019/20 season. New Balance has the right to match any new offer and extend its contract.
