Nike has appointed Tamika Curry Smith as its new VP of diversity and inclusion, according to a report from Black Enterprise.
Prior to her role at Nike, Curry Smith was head of diversity and inclusion at Mercedes-Benz USA and the director of diversity at Target, according to her LinkedIn profile.
In April of this year, Antoine Andrews, Nike’s former VP of diversity and inclusion, exited the company. His departure came after a number of executives, including president of Nike brand Trevor Edwards, resigned from the company amid workplace complaints. The Wall Street Journal reported that Nike executives protected male employees who degraded women and bullied employees from foreign countries.
