Lids Team Sports, a division of Hat World, Inc., and subsidiary of Genesco Inc., has agreed to administer a five-year joint agreement between Southeast Missouri State University and Nike. Working through dealers with Lids Team Sports, terms of the agreement name Nike the official uniform, apparel and footwear provider for the university’s fifteen athletic programs.
“LIDS Team Sports is thrilled to have the opportunity to share its vision of quality, competitive pricing and unmatched customer service with Southeast Missouri State University through this new agreement,” said Paul Brunelle, director of LIDS Team Sports. Brunelle added, “We value this relationship and are honored to be partnered with the Redhawks.”
John Shafer, director of athletics for Southeast Missouri State University, was optimistic, saying that “Nike has a long history of excellence in college athletics affiliation. The Swoosh will enhance the overall image of the department of athletics, and most importantly, improve the overall experience for our student-athletes.”
Shafer added that “The high-quality performance product provided by Nike will give our teams a competitive advantage. Our student-athletes, coaches and administrators are all extremely excited about this partnership. This agreement will provide mid-six figure savings for the university's Department of Athletics over the next five academic years.”
