The National Golf Federation reported that same-store rounds played in the U.S. were up 13.1% in November 2005 versus last year. The estimate is based on data from operators at 1,791 golf facilities. The large monthly gain was enough to bring the year-to-date total into the black at a 0.2% gain.
The Northwest region had the largest decline for the month, with sales down 18.5%. The slump was likely due to the plentiful early season snow the region experienced. The South Central region had the largest improvement for the month, up 42.5%. Private clubs saw monthly rounds up 11.1%, while Public courses were up 13.6%.
