The National Golf Foundation reports that the month of November proved to be tough for the nations golf courses as rounds played decreased 3.8% compared to the same month in 2006. The decrease in November brought year-to-date rounds played down to level with 2006 after Octobers 5.1% boost in rounds pushed 2007 into positive territory.
In some regions, like the Midwest, where there is very little rounds volume in the month of November, there were some large variances, but these have little effect on the year overall. Year-to-date, the best-performing region compared to last year has been the Northeast, and the South Central the worst.
