The National Golf Foundation reports that rounds played for the month of January decreased 4.3% for th month, compared to the same period last year. The group noted that this downturn does not necessarily bode poorly for the year ahead as January typically only accounts for roughly 3% of total rounds played for the full year. However, rounds were down 3.9% in Central/South Florida and 14.5% in the Southwest, regions that do tend to have a significant amount of play during the month. The Gulf Coast and South Central regions both saw increases for the month.
