Newton Running will open its new flagship store at Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, CO on March 14.
The move from Newton’s current store location on Walnut Street in Boulder comes as the Boulder-born brand introduces new models, launches its brand new “FEEL” marketing campaign, and continues to emphasize its partnership with Ironman Triathlon series. The move will place the brand in a prime position to draw new active consumers while acting as a home base for the loyal Newton tribe.
A Destination Fit For Runners
The 3,300 square-foot store will complement Newton Running’s new brand campaign FEEL; inspired by the emotional feeling running evokes and also the feeling of having a natural running form that is unique to Newton’s shoes. Incorporating the idea of FEEL into its aesthetic, the store designed by local Boulder company Transitheory will feature texturized environmentally friendly wall panels made from plant fiber and displays with visual and textual appeal. The store also will preserve the building’s early 1900’s original features, including original floor boards and exposed brick walls, to showcase the Newton brand and product offering while staying true to Pearl Street’s history and unique charm.
Harking to its Boulder roots, Newton plans to utilize its new retail space to also display historical memorabilia and original Newton shoe models to tell its brand story and show its growth from humble beginnings to the internationally known brand it has become.
“We are so excited to be a permanent feature on Pearl Street; an iconic street in a town that inspires our brand and the products we make each day,” said Jennifer Abshire, director of retail, for Newton Running. “The Grand Opening event on March 14 is the perfect way to celebrate this new step in our brand’s history with Newtonites, old and new, so I urge everyone to lace up their running shoes and head down to the store for a morning of running-related fun!”
Grand Opening Celebrations
To celebrate its new home, at 1222 Pearl Street, Boulder, Newton Running is inviting the public to join them at the new store on March 14 for a fun-filled morning with the Newton Tribe. Commencing at 9:00 a.m., the first 100 people to enter the store will receive a scratch-off card that will unveil store discounts from $5-10, with 25 of these cards unveiling a grand prize of $100 to redeem in-store.
Newton Running also is urging the public to lace-up their running shoes and join the Team Newton sponsored athletes at 10:00 a.m. on a fun run from the store location. Additional activities throughout the day include two running form mini-clinics hosted by Newton Running co-founder, running coach and author, Danny Abshire, at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.; Boulder inspired food and drink; Team Newton athlete meet-and-greets with Kara Henry, Tyler McCandless, Melody Fairchild and Kristin Arendt; and photo opportunities.
