Newton Running hired Stuart Johnson as VP of marketing. Johnson brings to the position 20 years of diverse, global marketing experience in footwear, apparel, packaged goods and premium retailing for such recognizable brands as Reebok, Starbucks, Microsoft, Frito-Lay and Tazo.

“Stuart comes from a diverse business background and has invaluable experience in developing and growing business internationally,” says CEO Jerry Lee. “He will be a key player in driving Newton Running’s success moving forward.”

The University of Colorado, Boulder, alumnus will oversee Newton Running's global marketing strategy, including the recently launched “Hello Better” domestic brand campaign. Johnson will apply his experience in strategic planning at Reebok International and global product management and innovation at Starbucks to develop and implement an integrated marketing plan for Newton Running’s expanding product line in 2012 and beyond.

“I am excited to be a part of the passionate Newton Running family and a brand that is dedicated to helping people run and live better,” says Johnson. “As a runner and marketer, that's personally satisfying. In joining Newton's leadership, my aim is to help create more Newton lovers and add momentum to the brand and further support our specialty retailers.”
