Newport Vessels, a clean electric technology brand in the boating and angling industry, hired Jason Kardas as head of product development. Kardas brings “a wealth of knowledge and a creative passion to his role, having established himself as a valuable asset throughout his career in product development.”

Kardas joined the company as a 23-year veteran working at Hobie as an industrial designer, director of product development, and, most recently, as VP of product development.

In his new role at Newport Vessels, Kardas oversees product development focused on electric outboard motors. His responsibilities include technical leadership, product lifecycle management, electric propulsion expertise, team and market leadership, and ensuring successful product launches.

“We are excited to welcome Jason to our team,” said Patrick Dean, president of Newport. “His wealth of experience in the outdoor and water technology industries is a testament to his deep-rooted understanding of the field. His expertise is poised to be a significant asset to Newport, driving innovation and excellence as we shape the future of electric propulsion technology.”

“I’m thrilled to join the Newport team,” said Kardas. “The company’s dedication to innovation in electric propulsion technology is inspiring, and I look forward to contributing to our shared vision. The prospect of working with such a talented and forward-thinking team is both humbling and exhilarating.”

Kardas earned a degree in Industrial and Product Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).
