New Balance plans to build a manufacturing plant near the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in Londonderry, NH; this is the company’s sixth factory in the U.S. The others are in Maine and Massachusetts.

The Londonderry Heritage Commission last month endorsed an application from New Balance for a design review of a site plan for a 102,418-square-foot manufacturing facility and associated site improvements at 55 Pettengill Road, as reported by the  Londonderry Times. The site will include manufacturing and office space. A future expansion would double the space.

New Balance, which reported $5.3 billion in sales last year, intends to hire 250 employees in the first phase of development and 200 employees in the second phase.

Earlier this month, SGB Media reported that New Balance broke ground on a $65 million, 120,000-square-foot addition to its Skowhegan, ME plant, scheduled to be completed by the end of 2024.
