New Balance announced the signing of all-star baseball athletes Yadier Molina and Josh Beckett, as well as the re-signing of Mark Trumbo and Cy Young winner, RA Dickey, to multi-year endorsement contracts. New Balance will be the official on-field footwear and off-field athletic footwear and apparel provider for these athletes.

In 2013, more than 450 professional baseball players (including the Minor Leagues) will wear New Balance, including an average of 300 active roster players – 25% of all players – including all-stars, Miguel Cabrera, Curtis Granderson, Nick Swisher, CJ Wilson, Dustin Pedroia and Andre Ethier.

“I work hard every day to get better and play better. New Balance gives me the support I need on and off the field, to go out and train and perform at my best,” says Miguel Cabrera. “New Balance also offers support to my foundation that helps keep kids playing the game of baseball.”

“New Balance is focused on providing innovative, high performance baseball cleats with unmatched comfort. As a result, athletes are choosing to wear New Balance,” says Mark Cavanaugh, general manager of sports marketing at New Balance. “In addition to offering superior product, New Balance is committed to working with Team NB athletes to support their charitable endeavors off the field. In 2013, all NB baseball athletes have committed to giving back to charities or their local communities.”

New Balance has set out to “Change the Game” of baseball and sports marketing by partnering with only those athletes who share our philosophy that doing good is just as important as doing well. “We are proud to associate our brand with athletes who share our values, believe in our brand, and are committed to giving back to their communities,” says Cavanaugh. “New Balance values strength of character as much as we value accolades on the field.”

New Balance baseball athletes will be wearing either the new MB3000 cleat or MB4040 on the field in 2013. The new MB3000 is a lightweight, low-profile cleat that provides luxurious comfort even through extra innings. Performance running technologies are used to eliminate spike pressure and provide an athlete superior comfort and fit on the field. A new spike plate design eliminates 30% of the weight compared to the previous spike plate and a supportive overlay on the upper secures the foot during quick movements on the field. The MB3000 is available in mid-cut (MSRP: $94.99) and low-cut versions (MSRP: $89.99).
