Canadian tennis star Milos Raonic has become the first player to endorse New Balance’s new line of tennis shoes and apparel.
The 22-year-old, who ended the 2012 tennis season ranked 13 in the world by the ATP, will use New Balance sportswear from this season onwards after switching from French brand Lacoste. Financial terms have not been released but a source for Canada’s Globe and Mail said the deal is of a value usually reserved for the world’s top five players.
Raonic will be wearing New Balance for the first time this week at the Brisbane International tournament in Australia, where he is seeded second behind Britain’s Olympic and US Open champion Andy Murray.
