New Balance Foundation, the charitable arm of New Balance Athletics, granted $30,000 to the Travis Mills Foundation to cover the operating costs for September 19-23 at the Travis Mills Retreat, a fully accessible facility for combat-injured veterans and their families. In addition, New Balance associates volunteered at the retreat the same week.

New Balance has championed the Travis Mills Foundation and its mission since 2016 with volunteerism, in-kind apparel and support of the retreat construction.

“New Balance Foundation is proud to support the Travis Mills Foundation’s mission to help combat-injured veterans live full and active lives,” said Anne Davis, managing trustee, New Balance Foundation. “Travis is an inspiration. His leadership and unwavering commitment to help others reach their full potential is something we admire and encourage.”

“The Travis Mills Foundation is honored that New Balance would believe in and support our recalibrated warriors and their families for the third year in a row,” said Brandy Cain, the Foundation’s executive director. “As a partner in the community and for the health and well-being of veteran families, the New Balance associates and the New Balance Foundation play an integral part in the success of the Travis Mills Foundation retreat programs.”

The Travis Mills Retreat opened its doors in the summer of 2017, offering guests–at no cost–adaptive sports, recreation, spa services, chef-prepared meals and whatever else the veterans and their families need to rest, relax and reconnect. Families come from all over the country to try paddle boarding, kayaking, fly fishing, yoga, archery, equine therapy, pottery, baking classes, kids’ crafts, golf, cycling, martial arts, massage therapy and more.
