The owners of New Haven, CT-based outdoor retailer Trailblazers officially opened their innovative action sports store Enclave Aug. 30. The store is divided into separate spaces that allow men and women to shop in their own uniquely designed areas.


The front half of Enclave is a skate and snowboard shop featuring a colorfully displayed array of skateboards and accessories complemented by a full line of clothing and outerwear for guys. This section of the store offers products from Burton, Volcom, Matrix, Billabong, Element, DVS, Nike, DC, Analog, Independent, Girl, Chocolate and more. A collection of snowboards, boots and bindings will be introduced next month.


Customers can also watch skate or snowboard videos on the flat screen TV or play a game of Tony Hawk on the wii.

The center of the store features a gateway that leads to the Girl’s boutique in the back of the store. Like stepping into another world…the boutique has its own look, lighting, music, staff, dressing room and register. Girls can shop for clothing and footwear from such companies as Ugg, Billabong, Vans, Gravis, Nike, Quiksilver Girls, Roxy, Element, Matix and DC in an environment designed just for them.


Trailblazer is a local, independent retailer founded in 1995. The company lineup includes three Trailblazer stores located in New Haven, Branford and the Mohegan Sun Casino, Denali in New Haven and now Enclave in New Haven. Trailblazer was honored in 2007 as one of the Top 25 Retailers in the United States by Outdoor Business magazine. Trailblazer is a proud member of the retail association Grassroots Outdoor Alliance.
