Neff Headwear, which came to the snow and skate headwear scene in 2002, adds another big music name to its list of supporters. In collaboration with recording artist, Future, Nedd designed a new beanie to push cultural boundaries and spark creativity. What resulted was Neff x Freebandz.
“Future was my ideal choice to collaborate with us because, like Neff, he doesn’t fit inside a box,” said Shaun Neff, founder and CEO. “Future is a trailblazer in trap music who’s writing some of the catchiest hooks out there, but also transcends genres. That’s why you’ll find influences from hip hop, athletics, urban style, and high fashion all weaved into the fabric of this exciting new collection.”
Neff x Freebandz marks the first foray into apparel collaborations for Future’s own label, Freebandz.
“My music, just like Neff clothing, cannot be confined,” said Future. “I wanted to collaborate on a collection with a brand that I knew people would love. I want everyone to have a little bit of my signature style in their wardrobes.”
The beanie launched in Tilly’s stores and online on December 22, 2015, hitting it big with those drawn to muted tribal prints. Neff x Freebandz also features a range of geometrically unique T-shirts and sweatshirts, inspired by Future’s personal style.
NEFF x Freebandz released a short film in concurrence with the collection, giving a first look at the collection. The video includes an intimate conversation with Future about what drives him daily.
Standout Feature: Aimed to motivate wearers, the word “Warrior” is seen scrolled across the back of a baseball tee with the numbers “06,” – a subtle nod to Future’s desire to continue to exceed expectations and pay homage to his hometown of Kirkwood, GA, also known as Zone 6.
In celebration of the collaboration, exclusive retailer Tilly’s will be offering fans the chance to win tickets to Future’s “Purple Reign” tour and a private meet and great after the show. The contest will kicked off December 25, 2016 and is set to run through February 1, 2016 on Tillys.com.
