The National Ski & Snowboard Retailers Association (NSSRA) named Tom Fuerst of Pedigree Ski Shop in White Plains, NY, the new chairman of its Board of Directors. Fuerst’s family has been a part of the snow sports industry for over 60 years.

Fuerst replaces Tracy Gibbons, who is no longer involved in the retail industry. She had been with Sturtevant’s in Bellevue, WA and Christy Sports.

“Tom has been a tremendous asset to the NSSRA Board, and it is exciting to have someone with his experience and understanding of the snow sports industry-leading NSSRA,” said Julie Pitts, NSSRA President. “His excellent working relationship with the NSSRA Board will help to address the challenges facing snow sports retailers.”

Fuerst leads one of the largest ski and snowboard retailers in the United States. His parents started Pedigree Ski Shop in 1962. Today, the company has four locations: two in White Plains, NY, one in Bedford Hills, NY and one in Stamford, CT.

Fuerst is also the Chairman of the Board of the Snowsports Merchandising Corporation (SMC) buying group.

“NSSRA appreciates Tracy’s dedication, service and ideas to improve the snow sports industry,” Pitts said. “We wish her the best as she begins a new professional chapter.”

The National Ski & Snowboard Retailers Association (NSSRA) is a volunteer-led organization dedicated to growing snow sports participation and supporting and educating specialty snow sports retailers.
