Nathan has partnered with Ocean Conservancy, a nonprofit environmental advocacy group dedicated to protecting the ocean from today’s greatest global challenges.

The multi-year partnership will kick off with donations from sales of the new Nathan HammerHead steel insulated bottle series, which launches in Spring 2018. Nathan will donate 2 percent of all profits from HammerHead bottles to Ocean Conservancy, which will help support programs that raise awareness of the role that everyone can play in keeping our ocean healthy and free from plastic.

“With United Sports Brands headquarters located in Orange County, California, we are acutely aware of the epidemic of plastic and trash in the ocean – much of it single-use plastic water bottles”, said Tony Armand, CEO of United Sports Brands, parent company of Nathan. “Our entire organization is ready and excited to work with the passionate team at Ocean Conservancy as we tackle this global problem together.”

For more than 30 years, Ocean Conservancy has led the world’s largest single-day volunteer effort for the ocean, the International Coastal Cleanup. During this time, more than 12 million volunteers have picked up over 228 million pounds of trash from beaches and waterways.

“As an avid runner and as someone who loves the ocean, I am so thrilled that Nathan is raising awareness of ocean conservation issues among runners and its broader athlete community,” said Julia Roberson, Ocean Conservancy’s vice president of communications. “And what better name for a new water bottle product than HammerHead, one of the ocean’s most beautiful and innovatively designed animals.”

Nathan is planning beach clean-up days throughout 2018 to promote ocean health.
