Nathan, the manufacturer of hydration, visibility and performance gear, announced its inclusion on the Philadelphia Business Journal’s “2015 Healthiest Employers” list. Winners are recognized for going the extra mile to keep employees healthy by encouraging physical and mental well-being.

“As a company that is committed to the wellness of our customers and staff, we are extremely proud to be included on this year’s Healthiest Employers list by the Philadelphia Business Journal,” said Bridgit Lombard, chief executive officer of Nathan. “The reason we’re able to create products that fit the needs of runners is because we are athletes ourselves. We’re constantly challenging our customers to push their potential, and we want our employees to do the same. It’s an honor to be recognized for the ways in which we promote a healthful lifestyle and for our understanding of the value of happy, healthy and focused employees,” continued Lombard.

Of particular note is Nathan’s employee gym, the hub of many of the brand’s health and wellness initiatives. Employees often arrive early or stay late to utilize the variety of equipment and fitness personnel made available to them – treadmills, weights, personal trainers and Zumba instructors – as they work to improve their health while building camaraderie with co-workers. The company also pays gym membership fees for out-of-state employees and race entry fees for all employees, in order to encourage goal-setting and participation outside the workplace.
