In a letter to retailers, MSR recently announced that the release of MSRs new XGK EX stove has been postponed three months to May 1, 2005. According to the letter, The original release date of February 1, 2005, “would have limited our ability to test this new stove to our complete satisfaction.” In the meantime, MSR will continue to offer the existing XGK Expedition stove at 2004 pricing. The target ship date for the new MSR SuperFuel is now March 21 2005.
In other news, Cascade Designs, Inc. is in the process of transitioning out of the SmartTrack business. The company stated that SmartTrack “no longer fits strategically within our recently defined brand positions, so we are actively pursuing a buyer interested in taking over production and sale of all SmartTrack products.”
Cascade Designs re-iterated that it is still fully committed to supporting existing accounts and customers through July 2005 and will continue to honor all warranty needs. Cascade will continue to ship SmartTrack until August 1, 2005. All pre-season and ASAP orders must be taken by this date.
