Mountainsmith announced the appointment of Jay Getzel to the newly-created position of domestic sales manager. Getzel was most recently sales and service manager for C.A.M.P. USA in Broomfield, CO.
Getzel will report to Erik Specht, director of sales and marketing, and have overall responsibility for managing the U.S. sales force for Mountainsmiths growing outdoor, travel, and camera markets.
He will also assume overall responsibility for the companys customer service department and be an integral member of the marketing and product teams.
At C.A.M.P. USA in Broomfield, Colorado, he managed the consumer and dealer service operations and was responsible for in-house sales, forecasting, pricing, trade shows, and the national clinic program. During his tenure, the company realized a 30% growth. Prior to that, he gained a wealth of knowledge in the outdoor market as a technical field service representative with the Timberland family of brands including Timberland Outdoor Performance, SmartWool, Mion, and GoLite. Getzel also has in-house experience from his days as a dealer service representative for Kelty and shop floor experience as the assistant manager of Eastern Mountain Sports in Boulder, Colorado.
