The number of residential units sold in Vail, CO. in 2012 grew 29 percent, or more than other ski resort towns measured by the Vail office of Coldwell Banker Distinctive Properties.



Steamboat Springs saw a 9 percent increase, Sun Valley had a 51 percent increase, Whistler 4 percent increase, Park City, Utah a 10 percent increase, Lake Tahoe an 18 percent increase and Jackson Hole, Wyoming saw a 31 percent increase in the number of units sold in 2012 compared to 2011.


In terms of total dollar value of real estate and homes sold year over year, Vail saw a 32 percent increase compared with no increase in Steamboat Springs, a 43 percent increase in Sun Valley, an 8 percent increase in Whistler, a 15 percent increase in Park City, UT, a 5 percent increase in  Lake Tahoe and a 60 percent increase in Jackson Hole.
