Mountain Hardwear and Montrail said they will be ending their relationship with its U.K. distributor, Bradshaw Taylor, at the end of Spring 2012.

Bradshaw Taylor, lead by Corry Taylor, has been a part of the Mountain Hardwear brand for the past 17 years and launched the brand in the U.K. In a statement, Mountain Hardwear and Montrail, both owned by Columbia Sportswear, praised the agency for their years supporting the brands.

“We are committed to developing a closer direct relationship with our retailers in the UK and will be establishing a dedicated organizational structure in the UK in the coming months ahead,” the statement said.

Andrew Barker, brand director, EMEA, will be working closely together with Bradshaw Taylor in ensuring a smooth transition for Mountain Hardwear, Montrail, Bradshaw Taylor, and its retailers.

Said Topher Gaylor, Mountain Hardwear’s president, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the team of 12 UK staff here at Bradshaw Taylor who work for Mountain Hardwear for their excellent contributions, to our three long term sponsored athletes for their stunning contributions, each with over 10 years service to the brand and to our wonderful retail partners who helped us launch and develop the brand in the UK over the years. The termination agreement with Columbia will afford a professional and smooth handover of the brand.”

“We believe the Mountain Hardwear and Montrail brands offer tremendous opportunity for growth and development in the UK. We intend to lead the industry with products that define the sports we love and progress the potential of the consumers we serve.”
