Morsel Munk, an online retailer owned and operated by Scott and Brigitte Rouleau since 2007, is opening its first retail store. Their soft opening is scheduled for Saturday, May 14 with a grand opening and ribbon cutting scheduled for early June. Morsel Munk will occupy approximately 2,400 square feet of retail space at 70 South Main St. (Route 44) in Winsted, CT and move their shipping and distribution operations to the same location.
“Were excited about the opportunity to drive our customer service and product support to a whole new level, and to interact face-to-face with our customers,” says Brigitte Rouleau, vice president. “Morsel Munks are, after all, social animals by nature.”
In alignment with their physical store expansion, Morsel Munk is expanding their product line. “Our primary summer anchor is watersports. Were bringing in wakeboards, water skis, wake skates, wake surfers, SUPs, towable tubes, life vests, tow ropes and accessories. Were pleased to bring in the Hyperlite, HO Sports, Byerly and Accurate Line brands,” continues Brigitte. “We have tremendous natural resources not only in Highland Lake in Winsted, but also in numerous waterbodies within a 25 miles radius. The watersports market has been underserved in our area for years. Given that Scott’s father used to ski at Cypress Gardens, and his parents were involved with forming Highland Lake’s water ski club, this is a natural extension of our business.” Camping will be a secondary anchor in the store.
Continuing with their operating philosophy, the Morsel Munk store will be geared toward helping make the outdoor experience approachable and fun for everyone. Over time, Morsel Munk will develop clinics and events, and will offer demo and rental programs.
Morsel Munk will be ingrained in their community, working to find ways to give back and help people in their area have fun and be young at heart. Brigitte and Scott extend an invitation to stop by their store and sign their counter. They are collecting stories and photos of how people “have fun staying young.”
