Following the sale of his controlling interest in the company, Mike Mooers, founder and president of OllyDog, will step down and assume a less active role. Current Vice President, Trudy Hutton, will become the new president. The change will be in effect by month’s end.

“I received the proverbial offer I couldn’t refuse,” says Mooers. “The company is in a position of tremendous strength – new capital, a new distribution facility – OllyDog’s ready to leap into its next phase of growth. Trudy is the perfect person to take it there.” Mooers remains in the ownership group and will serve in an advisory capacity, but with the sale of his controlling interest in the company, he will be able to, as he puts it, “Spend more time with my wife, my dog, and my skis.”

After leaving Sierra Designs in 2003, Mooers founded OllyDog with a crew of outdoor industry veterans: Hutton, Sally McCoy, and Ted Ganio.
