Modells Sporting Goods will celebrate the grand opening of a new 18,432 square foot store in Mt. Laurel, NJ from Oct. 23rd through Oct. 26th.
“The Modells family is ecstatic to open its 144th store and increase our local presence in Southern New Jersey / Philadelphia Metro area,” said CEO Mitchell Modell. “We share a passion for sports with our customers and take interest in the local community. Modells will serve our customers sporting needs in the best way possible and we look forward to celebrating both their individual and team achievements along the way.”
The ceremonial ribbon cutting will take place Thursday, Oct. 23rd 2008 at 9:00am to the sounds of the Maple Shade High School Band with Modell and the Modells executive team on hand. The first 200 adult customers in line will each receive a Modells Messenger Bag containing a $10 Gift Card inside. 10 bags will contain a $100 Modells Gift Card inside. From 6:00pm to 8:00pm Thursday evening, former Phillies player and member of the 1980 World Series Championship team, Greg “The Bull” Luzinski will conduct a free autograph signing for fans. The first 200 people overall in line will be guaranteed an autograph.
The festivities continue throughout the weekend, with Free “Grand Opening Giveaways” continuing at 9:00am and 6:00pm on both Friday and Saturday and then again on Sunday at 12:00pm. All weekend long customers will receive a free gift for making a purchase and when they sign up for the Modells MVP Rewards or MVP Mastercard program. Visitors to the store during opening weekend will also have a chance to take part in the Modells “Ultimate Sports Fan House Party Sweepstakes.”
Modells will donate a percentage of sales from each day of the Grand Opening Weekend to five public high schools in the Mt. Laurel area.
