Modell’s Sporting Goods hired Roger Kitch as the new VP and GMM for its Sporting Goods Division. Kitch joins the company bringing over 15 years of retail experience with him, most recently having been Senior Merchant for Office Depot where he held full P&L responsibility for printers, scanners and faxes in all channels including retail, commercial and contract divisions. He will report to EVP Seth Horowitz.

He has a proven track record in areas such as inventory planning, turn optimization and pricing & lifecycle management. His experience in sporting goods is exceptional and his creative thinking will ensure that the assortment ties directly back to our brand message while improving the financial performance of the division.”

Kitch’s past professional experience also includes the position of Buyer for The Sports Authority, where he was responsible for assortment planning, inventory management, marketing strategies and vendor negotiating. He also spent earlier years in buying positions for Nevada Bob’s Golf & Tennis and Klein’s All Sports.
