Don Crawley (Don C), the high-end streetwear designer, was named creative director of premium products for Mitchell & Ness, which was acquired last year by Fanatics.
Crawley was previously the manager of Kanye West and an executive at Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. music label. In 2011, he founded the streetwear and sports apparel brand Just Don. Crawley is also a co-owner of the luxury clothing store chain RSVP Gallery. He has collaborated on collections with the Jordan and L.V.M.H. Rémy Martin brands and has a long partnership with Mitchell & Ness that started in 2011 with the release of Just Don hats.
“Don is truly an icon and visionary, and after having worked with him for many years, we’re ecstatic to have him formally join the Mitchell & Ness family,” Mitchell & Ness CEO Kevin Wulff said in a press release. “Fans of the brand can look forward to exciting new products across all leagues that will fuse the brand’s heritage with Don C’s cutting-edge creative vision.”
One of the first joint projects will be the MLB “Cooperstown Collection,” release in April, timed with the MLB’s season start. Just Don premium shorts honoring the MLB’s most recent expansion teams, the Colorado Rockies, Florida Marlins, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Tampa Bay Rays, will be part of the launch.
Don C will also help guide the new NBA shorts and headwear collection. Mitchell & Ness said the collection celebrates some of the league’s earliest foreign stars, including Drazen Petrovich, Tony Parker and Toni Kukoc.
