MidwayUSA Foundation’s Board of Directors recently met in Columbia, MO, and appointed a new Board president and vice president.
Jon Zinnel will serve as president and replace longstanding president and former Executive Director Dick Leeper. As the director of Community Relations for Federal Premium, Remington, Hevi-Shot, and CCI Ammunition, Zinnel is a familiar face in the industry and shares a commitment to the future of shooting sports with the Foundation.
“Jon Zinnel has a compelling record of supporting youth in shooting sports. His knowledge, experience and passion make him well-suited to lead our Board of directors as the new president. And while I welcome Jon, I want to recognize our outgoing Board President, Dick Leeper, who has skillfully led the Board for over 10 years. His insight and leadership have been invaluable,” said G. Scott Reynolds, executive director of MidwayUSA Foundation.
Zinnel has served on the Foundation’s Board since 2021 and said of his new role, “I have seen the MidwayUSA Foundation from all angles as a coach who started a team endowment, to a financial supporter, to leading state and national organizations to support their efforts to later supporting the Board as a director. This next opportunity to lead the Board is a true honor.”
In addition to appointing a new president, MidwayUSA Foundation has elected Nancy Bacon as Vice President. She is currently the VP of Southwick Associates, a market research and economics company serving the hunting, shooting, sportfishing, and outdoor recreation market.
Bacon is also no stranger to the MidwayUSA Foundation, serving as a Board member since 2022.
The MidwayUSA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity working to sustain and grow youth shooting sports by providing long-term funding to youth shooting teams in all shooting disciplines.
