Microban International Ltd., a textile odor control and prevention company, received a Bluesign system blue product rating for its Scentry BC100, an odor capture treatment for textiles.
Scentry BC100 is a non-antimicrobial solution designed to absorb body odors in clothing and footwear made from polyester, spandex, nylon and synthetic blends caused by organic chemical compounds.
“Ensuring that Microban’s technologies are sustainable is very important to our customers and the end consumer,” said Lisa Owen, senior business director of global textiles for Microban. “Obtaining a Bluesign blue product rating shows our partners we are dedicated to bringing them quality products upon which they can rely.”
Microban, which is based in North Carolina, received Bluesign approval in May 2016 for its ZPTech, a wide-spectrum antimicrobial for textiles. Microban has been a Bluesign partner since 2014.
The Bluesign system is a solution for sustainable textile production, eliminating harmful substances from the beginning of the manufacturing process, setting standards for environmentally friendly and safe production.
