Canadian outdoor retailer, Mountain Equipment Company (MEC), is set to expand its retail footprint by opening a new standalone store in the Maritimes this August.
The new MEC store will be located at The Mapleton Centre in Moncton, offering a wide selection of outdoor brands and its in-house labeled products.
The Moncton store is MEC’s second location in the Maritimes, joining Halifax, and its 22nd standalone store in Canada.
“We are excited to become part of the passionate outdoor Moncton community,” said Peter Hlynsky, chief operations officer at MEC. “Moncton is a hub city in the Maritimes with an abundance of local and provincial wild spaces, ideal for camping, hiking, climbing, biking, paddling, and cross-country skiing, and we are looking forward to helping new customers and members gear up for their outdoor adventures.”
The 17,000-square-foot retail space will accommodate the addition of a rental fleet assortment and a bike shop.
