Jeff McGuane has been appointed president of CSG (Cannondale Sports Group) North America. Formerly president of CSG International, McGuane is now charged with driving the CSG business in North America from its Bethel, CT office. The company also announced that Bob Baird, president of Dorel’s Recreation and Leisure Sector will become the acting president of CSG International.

“Jeff McGuane is a superb leader with an impressive record of accomplishments in the cycling industry, and he has strong experience across multiple markets,” Baird said. “Since 2004, Jeff has led Cannondale Europe to tremendous success, and we’re looking forward to similar results in North America under his leadership. Therefore, I am quite pleased to announce Jeff McGuane as President of Cannondale Sports Group North America.”

Cannondale Sports Group is comprised of four cycling brands sold through Independent Bike Dealers (IBDs): Cannondale, Schwinn, GT, and Mongoose.

For the past 14 years McGuane has held positions with Cannondale and CSG in the United States, Japan and Europe.  He was appointed President of Cannondale Europe in 2004 and named President of CSG International in August 2008. Under McGuane's leadership, the company said Cannondale Europe experienced a truly exceptional rate of growth and success.

“One of the great things about being part of Dorel is that we have some of the best people, retailers and cycling brands in the world,” McGuane said. “The best days for CSG North America are still before us, especially when I consider such converging factors in North America as the green movement, mobility initiatives and healthcare concerns. That’s why I’m honored to accept this position as President of CSG North America.  I look forward to working closely with the entire CSG team to realize our vision for this company and the communities it serves.”
