McDavid USA hired Mary Horwath as its vice president of global marketing. This newly-created position will be responsible for strategic brand direction, creative communications, and the development of product and marketing initiatives.

“Mary joins us as we seek to become a more innovative, integrated and agile global brand with all marketing parts working strategically together towards the common goal,” said company Co-founder and President Bob McDavid. “With expertise in consumer marketing, brand building, product development and a deep understanding of the sporting goods industry, her marketing leadership will be invaluable as the company pursues significant growth over the next several years.”

Through her career, Horwath has worked with such sports and lifestyle brands as Polaris, K2, Atlas/Tubbs, Shock Doctor and the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team. Horwath is most well-known for her work at Rollerblade where, as vice president of marketing, she helped steer the company from start-up to $150 Million in sales in eight years.

“Few brands can claim true testimonials from athletes at the highest level, but McDavid is the real deal,” stated Horwath. “Our mission will be to help spread the word that McDavid is an essential part of every athlete's training, motivation and success.”

Reporting to Horwath will be Rey Corpuz, who joined the company in 2008 and has been promoted to Senior Director of Product Marketing. Corpuz will now focus exclusively on the management and innovation of new products.
