Marolina Outdoor, the parent company of Huk Performance Fishing and Nomad Outdoor, hired Dean Rurak as CEO and Bill Ferreira as senior vice president of sales and merchandising, effective May 1.

Rurak succeeds Edwin Lewis, who has been in the role since purchasing the company in 2018 in partnership with Goode Partners. Lewis will continue to serve as the Company’s Chairman. 

“Dean brings extensive knowledge of all of our product categories and has a long track record working with our key strategic partners. He will be an incredible asset as we continue to build out the omni-channel strategy of the Huk brand,” said Lewis.

Rurak brings over two decades of sportswear industry expertise and executive leadership experience to the position, with a proven track record of brand-building and developing omnichannel strategies. He spent the past 25 years in various leadership roles at Columbia Sportswear, most recently as senior vice president and chief product officer. Before that, he was the senior vice president of North American sales at Columbia.

As Senior Vice President of Sales and Merchandising, Ferreira will oversee wholesale sales and product strategy. He is a seasoned veteran in the outdoor industry with over 30 years of experience in sourcing, planning, manufacturing, and merchandising. Ferreira was previously an 18-year veteran at Columbia Sportswear. His most recent role being the director of merchandising for the PFG brand.
