Marmot Mountain hired Gregory Houser as Vice President of Design and Product Development, effective October 1, 2005.

Mr. Houser was previously the VP and DMM of strategic planning and product development of L.L. Bean’s outerwear, technical apparel and men’s sportswear divisions, and worked with all aspects of Bean’s product development, design, sourcing and marketing. Greg began in the outdoor industry 18 years ago when he assisted his brother in opening a specialty outdoor store in Vermont. He commented, “Marmot was our premier brand then and it still is today. I grew up with Marmot. I am excited for the opportunity to address the Marmot global growth opportunities and to help drive its tradition of innovation into diversified outdoor products.”

“Greg brings a complete package to Marmot,” said Mark Martin, President of Marmot. “He has been in retail, wholesale and manufacturing. He has managed every aspect of technical outwear product development on a scale rarely seen in our specialty industry. He brings great breadth of experience in merchandising, strategic planning and brand building. He is an active outdoor person who knows our products, industry and customer. We are pleased to welcome Greg to our team.”
