Marmot will match any individual or group donation to the dZi Foundation for the construction of 20 person shelters in the earthquake region of Bagh, Pakistan. The dZi Foundation, working in collaboration with Australian Aid International, has already started 40 shelters, but many more are needed to assist the Pakistani people during this harsh winter and wet spring period.

“The shelters are clever in that they are extraordinarily simple,” explained Tom Fritz, Marketing VP of Marmot. “They are sturdy sand bags placed around an assembled steel frame and covered with flexible corrugated steel for weather protection. Crude, basic but effective, these shelters are incredibly important for the people in this decimated region.”

A single shelter can be constructed for $250. For every donation of $125, Marmot will contribute an additional $125, and a new shelter will be built. Marmot will match all donations up to $10,000. If the goal is reached, it will result in 80 new shelters for 1600 people.
