Marker Dalbello Völkl (MDV) announced the promotion of Matt McKenna to the role of national race manager for the United States. In his expanded role, McKenna will continue to offer comprehensive service and support to all levels of alpine racing in New England, in addition to working closely with the MDV management team on national level race and sponsorship programs, goals and initiatives.
McKenna joined the MDV team in 2018 as the New England Race Manager. Prior to that, he spent four years coaching at Burke Mountain Academy, where he had also been a student before attending Colby College.
“Matt’s strong ski racing background, coaching experience, product knowledge and expert level of service will bring tremendous value to MDV’s racing program. He possesses a passion for the sport that resonates with the athletes, coaches, racing programs and retailers involved with our brands. We are thrilled to have Matt expand his involvement in the MDV racing program beyond the East Coast,” said Sarah Lauridsen, MDV Director of Promotions.
McKenna lives in East Burke, Vermont, and when he’s not traveling, is based in the MDV race room and main office facilities in New Hampshire. McKenna’s brother, Chris McKenna, also works for MDV as the Intermountain Regional Promotions Assistant and plays a very key role in promoting the MDV Brands in his territory.
“I’m excited for my expanded role at Marker Dalbello Völkl and the opportunity to work with all of our athletes and retailers on a national level, as well as to continue working with our International race department. MDV has a long history of success and dedication to ski racing and I look forward to continuing to help grow the MDV race brand in the US,” said McKenna.
