Mammut Sports Group USA experienced double-digit increases in its North America business for the first half of 2010 and with Winter 10/11 pre-orders up 35% over Winter 09/10, the company is anticipating another strong finish.


Summer 2011 pre-orders and the recent Outdoor Retailer Summer Market tradeshow indicate continued growth next year even as many specialty retailers stuggle in a difficult economy.


In early 2009, Mammut USA reported substantial double-digit growth overall for 2008 and followed that with a 25% increase in 2009.


While distribution is up for the brand, the majority of the growth is within Mammut’s existing dealer base of specialty outdoor and snowsports dealers – an indicator of strong dealer partnerships and sell-through.


“We’ve all seen the global economy slow or slump, but for the last three years we continue to see positive growth numbers,” said Bill Supple, CEO of Mammut North America. “We’ve seen real traction for the Mammut brand in the U.S. and Canada, and now a true trend toward steady sales increases as both markets continue to embrace Mammut outerwear, apparel and technical hard goods.”
