Maloja signed a four-year agreement as the Official Outfitter of the U.S. Biathlon Team.

Within this partnership, Maloja will provide the U.S. Biathlon team athletes custom race suits as well as training outfits, streetwear and accessories.

“We are very excited to partner with the U.S. Biathlon team and to be acknowledged for our high performance race wear and warm-ups,” said Peter Rauber, Maloja design director. “Our product design team pays attention to every detail to ensure fit, quality and performance are central to every product we make. From our extensive work with the German National Ski Mountaineering team as well as our own Pushbikers cycling team, we are always striving to push the envelope. We look forward to outfitting the team in the most advanced Nordic race gear.”

“Maloja’s high performance apparel is an ideal fit for our team,” said Max Cobb, U.S. Biathlon president and CEO. “Our team needs to trust and believe in our apparel, and we have chosen Maloja as our long-term partner based on their quality, style and performance attributes.”

The U.S. Biathlon will be outfitted in modern, lightweight racing suits with bonded and ultrasonically welded seams and laser-cut inserts. A full range of movement will be achieved by using four-way stretch, wind blocking fabrics and wicking materials. The suits will also have special reinforced shoulders and silicon patches to support rifle placement as well as reinforced knees and elbows to protect athletes in the prone shooting segment of the competitions.

Throughout the partnership, Maloja will continue to work with the U.S. Biathlon athletes to adapt the designs for optimal performance. In addition to the team race suits and uniforms, the partnership includes U.S. Biathlon merchandising of retail items made by Maloja to be sold at U.S. Biathlon events. Maloja will also design a junior race outfit that will be offered for sale to development level ski programs in the U.S.
