Lululemon in early May opened its first running-exclusive store in Montreal, according to Canadian Running Magazine and other local reports.
The location, called Le Local and located on Montreal’s Mile End, features only running apparel, bras and accessories but also serves as a community hub.
In its review of the opening, Montreal-based thelocalstretch.com stated, “Part a store, part a hub for community players – Lululemon now offers a new space to foster the connection between the innovators, creators and sports enthusiasts of Montreal’s Mile End. Judith, the co-manager explained this new innovative concept to us. Le Local is a meeting place that is focused towards the runners of our City. Le Local’s aesthetics and design celebrate the beauty and unique style of the Mile End and the surrounding neighborhood life. In the space, Lululemon encourages us to use their beautiful wooden table, located right in the center of the store, as a place of work and collaboration (Wifi is included!). In addition, lockers are available to runners who want to make Le Local their pre-race meeting point; an awesome initiative which we are excited to take full advantage of! A awesome selection of technical clothing designed for running is offered in stores, in addition to other Montreal brands such as the stylish Ciele cap and Math Sport shoes.”
