Lucy Activewear Inc. has named Michelle Lantow as president. Lantow joined Lucy in 2000 as chief financial officer and has been acting president since November, when Mike Edwards resigned.

The Portland, Ore.-based women's apparel company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Greensboro-based VF Corp., which also owns brands such as Lee, Jansport and Seven for All Mankind. VF bought Lucy last year for $110 million.

In her new role, Lantow will be reporting to President of VF's Contemporary Brands Coalition, Mike Egeck.

Lantow, a graduate in Business Economics from the University of California, joined Lucy in 2000 after leaving Gap Inc., where she served in various key positions, including Vice President of Finance, Vice President of Investor Relations and Corporate Controller.

Egeck commented, “Michelle's leadership and experience has played a pivotal role in the success of the lucy brand. Her commitment brings continuity to the vision that has and will continue to propel the brand's growth as a leading women's activewear business.”
