Lorpen, a manufacturer of performance socks based in Toronto, announced its sponsorship of the Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing (CADS), a volunteer-based organization that assists individuals with a disability to lead fuller lives through active participation in recreational and competitive snow skiing and snowboarding.

“With Lorpen's support, we can continue to promote and facilitate programs for people with disabilities that enable them to enjoy the thrills and challenges of snowsports,” said David O'Brien, executive director of CADS.  “We will use Lorpen's generous donation to help us to bring joy, a sense of freedom and speed to individuals who normally might not even venture outside in the winter.”

CADS currently has more than 1,130 disabled members of all ages and 1,900 able-bodied volunteers at over 40 locations across Canada.  It also sponsors the annual CADS National Ski Festival week, which offers daily lessons in ski/snowboard improvement, advanced techniques for introduction to gates and race training, with the opportunity to meet members of the Canadian Para-Alpine Team, as well as attend the CADS Festival Banquet and other on- and off-hill activities.

“We're inspired by the tremendous spirit and enthusiasm of CADS, its volunteers and all the skiers and snowboarders who participate in its programs,” said Colin Sanders, VP of sales and marketing at Lorpen North America.  “We're pumped to back snowsports enthusiasts of all abilities by supporting CADS.”
