LOOK, the French frame and pedal manufacturer, has ended its relationship with its U.S. distributor and created a wholly owned North American subsidiary. The company said that the primary reasons were economical, and the company wanted to offer retailers and consumers better prices and better margins.

In addition, the company was seeing a stagnation in the frame market and wanted to offer complete bikes in the U.S.
LOOK also released financial information for fiscal 2006, which ended on June 30th. The company saw sales increase from €26 million ($34.1 mm) to €29.5 million ($36.5 mm). Exports accounted for 70% of turnover with the U.S. making up 20%, or $7.3 million. In order of size, look also exports to Italy, Germany, Holland, Great Britain, Spain, and several other countries. Look only owns its distributors in France and the U.S.
