Barbara Longstreth, owner of Longstreth Women’s Sports in Parker Ford, PA, has been selected for induction into the Northern California Lacrosse Foundation Hall of Fame. She will be inducted at a ceremony and dinner Feb. 27 at the Marines Memorial Club in San Francisco.

Longstreth, already a member of the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame, played second home for Haverford High School from 1951-54. She was the captain and MVP in 1954. Longstreth continued playing second home at Beaver College from 1955-58. She was captain of the 1957 and 1958 teams, and was honored as MVP in 1958.

During her sophomore year, she was named to the U.S. national team. She played first home on the U.S. team from 1956-64, and then again in 1967. Longstreth was inducted into both the Philadelphia Lacrosse Hall of Fame and the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1998.

Longstreth coached high school and club lacrosse for more than 17 years, and has more than 25 years umpiring experience. She pioneered women’s lacrosse on the West Coast in the 1970s. During that time, she founded her sporting goods company.

In 1977, Longstreth started women’s club lacrosse in the Los Angeles area while coaching at Long Beach State.

Longstreth moved to Northern California and spent four years coaching club lacrosse at Stanford while organizing the sport in California.
