L.L.Bean will donate $114,000 to The One Fund Boston following the sale of 3,500 limited edition totes made from the 2012 Fenway Park tarp.

The One Fund Boston Totes went on sale on Sept. 6, 2013 at select L.L.Bean retail stores in Massachusetts and Maine and sold out the next day. The donation to The One Fund Boston by L.L.Bean represents 100 percent of the profits from the tote sales. L.L.Bean previously contributed $150,000 to the Fund following the tragic events that occurred on April 15 and the days that followed.

“As we continue our ongoing work of supporting the survivors of these tragic events, we are delighted to receive this additional donation from L.L.Bean,” said Mike Sheehan, Treasurer of One Fund Boston. “This unique tote provides a lasting reminder of the strength and resilience of our people and of the unprecedented generosity and creativity of the New England business community.”

The One Fund Boston Tote was handcrafted in Maine from repurposed Fenway Park tarp. Each tote features a patch with the signature blue and yellow The One Fund Boston logo and an interior pocket with a brief narrative about the bag’s origins and how it supports the Boston community.
“In creating this tote we wanted to celebrate the spirit of Boston and create a unique way to support the victims and families affected by the marathon tragedy,” said Steve Fuller, Chief Marketing Officer for L.L.Bean. “It is thanks to the tremendous support of our customers that we are able to make such a significant donation to The One Fund.”
