Liz Dunn, retail expert and equity research analyst, has founded Talmage Advisors Inc., a strategic consultancy serving the retail and branded consumer products segments.
With a 20-year track record of analyzing brands and retailers, Ms. Dunn has spent the last 13 years as a highly regarded equity research analyst following over 40 publicly traded companies in the retail, apparel, footwear, and global brands sectors. Ms. Dunn has been recognized by Institutional Investor Magazine and has been a regular guest commentator on CNBC and Bloomberg. Prior to launching Talmage, Ms. Dunn held various analyst and director positions at Macquarie Capital (USA), FBR Capital Markets, Thomas Weisel Partners, and Prudential Equity Group. She also worked in the investment banking division of Bear Stearns and in finance at Liz Claiborne and Gap Inc. She holds a B.A. in Economics from Spelman College.
Commenting on her decision to launch Talmage Advisors, Ms. Dunn said, “The retail and consumer space is rich with creative talent, but is in shorter supply of strategic discipline, operational and financial analysis, and competitive benchmarking. What sets the winners apart from the rest is the marriage between the art of product and the science of analysis. My goal is to bridge the gap and help clients drive sustainable growth and profitability.”
Christine Day, CEO of Luvo and former CEO of Lululemon said, “Liz has a strong understanding of the retail marketplace. She leverages her industry experience to probe deeper into the financial, operating, and strategic assessment of the companies she follows and is known for her ability to spot emerging companies with the potential to shift the market.”
