Leki USA has launched demo centers at five prominent trailheads across the United States to get its trekking poles into the hands of more consumers.

The new centers are located at the following locations: the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) Pinkham Notch Visitor Center and the AMC Cardigan Lodge both located in New Hampshire; the AMC Mohican Outdoor Center located in New Jersey; Sierra Club’s Clair Tappaan Lodge in California’s Sierra Nevada; and the Beaver Creek hiking center located in Colorado. The demo centers will be stocked with Leki’s best selling trekking poles, the Corklite and the ladies Lhasa Lite, which hikers can test out on the hundreds of miles of trails these outdoor destinations offer.

“The new Demo Centers located at select, high profile trail heads present a great opportunity to educate consumers first hand on the benefits of using trekking poles and will hopefully increase the number of Leki fans out there at the same time,” said Greg Wozer, VP of Leki USA. “This, in conjunction with our new ‘Why Poles?’ marketing campaign, should stimulate further excitement in the product category.”

Demo Center employees have received training from Leki representatives so they are prepared to assist consumers with product information. Most recently in early June, Leki representatives were on site at Sierra Club’s Clair Tappaan Lodge to kick off their demo season with presentations and hikes with 35 members of Sierra’s leadership team.

Leki is concentrating the Demo Centers at prominent trailheads across the country for maximum use and has plans to introduce a Demo Center Locator on its website that will include participating retailers and/or organizations running the Demo Center and a complete profile of each location including photos, map/directions, hours of operation, etc. Retailers in proximity to high profile trailheads interested in participating in the Leki Demo Center program should contact their local Leki sales rep or Leki USA Customer Service at 716-683-1022.
